Hero is a very sweet boy who thinks his job is life is just to make you happy.  Hero LOVES a walk, and he loves the beach.  If anything, he is a bit shy around other dogs, his response if at all concerned is to roll on his back.  He is currently living with a cat, gentle dog loving kids are just fine and a doggy girlfriend is by no mean out of the question.

Hero has just turned 3 yrs of age (August, 2013) and when he arrived at SPR had some pretty mean eye ulcers.  He has since had entropion surgery and recovered well, although he may always be slightly vision impaired, as his eyes will continue to heal for the next 6 months.

Hero is of course desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.  He did fail his thyroid test though and as a resut, now takes 1 x  thyroxine tablet twice a day, and will need to do so for the rest of his life.  These cost less than $1 per day.  Currently eating a diet of Canidae Platinum dog kibble with a touch of minced chicken carcass and 1/2 a teaspoon of Omega 3,6 & 9 oil daily, also a big fat marrow bone stripped of all the meat once a month, Hero is now thriving!

Hero is a really lovely kind and gentle boy who obviously was not cared well for by his last owner, so in his forever home, Hero is looking to be considered a part of the family.  A prized and treasured addition.  In return, Hero will be a most faithful and loving friend.
